The Head of Production in a plastic manufacturing company is responsible for
overseeing the production process, managing the production team, and ensuring the
efficient and cost-effective production of high-quality plastic products. This role involves
planning, coordination, and control of manufacturing processes to ensure that products
are produced on time and meet the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Management:

• Develop and implement production schedules to meet production targets and
  deadlines.
• Oversee the entire production process, from raw material procurement to finished
  product.
• Ensure optimal utilization of resources, including manpower, machinery, and
  materials.

Team Leadership:

• Manage and lead a team of production supervisors, technicians, and operators.
• Provide training, guidance, and performance evaluations to ensure team efficiency
  and growth.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

Quality Control:

• Implement and maintain quality control systems to ensure products meet industry
  standards and customer specifications.
• Monitor production processes and make adjustments to improve quality and
  efficiency.
• Coordinate with the quality assurance team to address any quality issues.

Process Improvement:

• Identify areas for improvement in the production process and implement strategies to
  enhance productivity.
• Utilize lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to minimize waste and increase
  efficiency.
• Keep abreast of new manufacturing technologies and industry trends.

Cost Management:

• Monitor production costs and implement cost-saving measures without
  compromising quality.
• Prepare and manage production budgets and forecasts.
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best prices for raw materials and services.

Health and Safety:

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Promote a culture of safety within the production team.
• Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.

Reporting and Documentation:

• Maintain accurate production records and prepare regular reports for senior
  management.
• Ensure all production documentation is up-to-date and compliant with industry
  standards.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related
  field.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a production management role within the
  plastic manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of plastic manufacturing processes, materials, and machinery.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in production planning and quality control principles.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using production management software and tools.
